| Mark Murawski, Chair of Men’s Board Mark Murawski recently became Director of Professional Services at SMS Incorporated and is responsible for building the division across North America. Mark has over 24 years of information technology experience, having started as a systems programmer in St. Louis, MO and then proceeding to project management. In 1986, Mark joined Tandem Computers as a systems analyst and was considered a regional specialist in capacity planning, performance management and database performance tuning. Mark was asked to join Kraft Foodservice as their architecture and technology specialist in 1992 to help architect and manage their systems in Phoenix. Mark also filled the role of disaster recovery manager for the entire organization. In 1998, Mark joined Dial Corporation to run their central data center in Scottsdale, AZ. Mark’s focus on operational excellence helped the organization to be more proactive and strategic. This experience led him to join MHA Consulting in 1999 as Sr. Vice President and Partner of the company. At MHA, Mark had the opportunity to work with a number of Fortune 500 customers in various industries. Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in 1982. He is a sought-after speaker at local and national conferences addressing business continuity planning and data center strategies. He has run five marathons since June of 2005, including one in New York , and enjoys playing the saxophone, ice hockey and kickball with his wife Theresa and two young sons Troy and Tyler. He has been a member of the Fresh Start Men’s Board for six years. Mark's sister is in the Mentoring Program.

Our Founders Pat Petznick and Beverly Stewart
Even as young teens, Pat and Beverly wanted to help women, who like their grandmother, suddenly became the sole support of their families. Over the years, the Arizona natives became ardent community activists on behalf of women. In 1992, Pat Petznick and Beverly Stewart were in a position to personally and professionally reach out to women in need. The initial offering was a day of pampering at Rolf’s Salon, then co-owned by Pat, Beverly and Rolf Lohse. The women theorized that a new hair style and personalized make-up were immediate ways to boost one’s confidence and increase self-esteem. Each month 20 women from shelters and social service agencies were invited to “A Fresh Start Day of Beauty at Rolf’s.” This core Fresh Start service remains in place today through Rolf’s Salon as well as through the Self-Esteem Room at the Foundation’s Women’s Resource Center.
