Volunteer

Volunteers bring heart to an organization and volunteering helps fill one’s heart. Fresh Start has been blessed since the beginning with some of the most talented, dedicated and giving volunteers in Arizona.

Becoming a Fresh Start Volunteer is simple.

1. Choose the volunteer opportunity that interests you from the descriptions below.
2. Download and complete the volunteer application form.
3. Fax or mail the application form using the contact information on the form.
4. Smile! You are on your way to making a difference in the lives of other women.

Within 72 hours of receiving your application form, someone will contact you to schedule your orientation. If you have any questions, please contact the Volunteer Services Manager, Nancy O'Malley, at (602) 261-7166 or volunteer@fswf.org.

Mentor

Work one-on-one with a woman who is trying hard to turn her life around. In this goal-based program Mentors are asked to help keep their Mentee focused on her goals with positive, encouraging support and accountability. Mentors must make a 1 year commitment and meet certain qualifications. There is a $30 charge for the Mentor’s background check. Mentors are required to communicate once per week by phone, and twice per month in person with their Mentee.

To find out more about the Mentoring Program, please contact the Mentor Program Coordinator at 602-261-7163.

Career Coach

Coaches are professionals that volunteer their time to provide information and guidance to women regarding their career. They assist women with resume and cover letter writing, job searching, identifying educational opportunities, career guidance and goal setting, interviewing skills, and professional development. Career Coaches see women one-on-one on a walk-in basis. Coaches make their own schedule and shifts are available during the evenings and on weekends! If you have a background in human resources, recruiting, hiring, career counseling, education or management, then this could be the opportunity for you.
